Medical Partnership
It all started in the mid 90’s with a compassionate nurse who visited the Dominican Republic and saw a way to make a difference in the lives of thousands.
She convinced a retired doctor from the Village Presbyterian Church that teams of volunteers could take life saving medical care and education to some of the poorest people in the western hemisphere and all involved would be richer for it.
Today that program has taken us places few imagined. We continue to sponsor medical and surgical teams who provide primary health care to Haitian cane cutters. We also launched an ambitious community health care promoter program--providing training and support for people who live in these small villages to help care for their neighbors.
These programs are designed to address everything from childhood malnutrition to family planning to disease prevention.
How do we do it? With God’s help and support from people like you..
All of us want to feel like we’re doing something worthwhile with our lives--making a difference, serving as models to our children, creating a legacy.
The Dominican Republic Medical Partnership is an opportunity to do all that and more.
Take a look at what we have to offer. Can you see yourself volunteering in a foreign country?
Would you like to help the poor learn to help themselves? Would you consider donating a few dollars to help prevent malnutrition in children?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then take the next step.
